Vision
Twine works to realise a world vision where:
- resources both natural and cultural are treasured and considered priceless aspects of interconnected global health.
- useful skills for sustainable living are shared and passed on.
- small enterprises that nurture human beings and honor the environment thrive.
- The voices and stories of farmers, artists and artisans around the world are valued and shared in diverse communities.
- curiosity and imagination are cultivated and celebrated.
- people work together to support creative individual and collective efforts towards a healthy and diverse planet.
Twine is currently looking for a long term home from which to be based in order to create an artistic sustainable learning center. We envision a center where culturally transferable, ecological conscious skills of all types could be investigated, developed, documented and shared with others. We envision a place where diverse groups of people can come and experienece the growing season in an organic garden and where workshops, retreats, exhibitions, demonstrations, artmaking, dialogue and exchange can occur.
The Twine Center would serve as an incubator for service projects to be effectively developed and documented before being shared with a community in another location. The Twine Center would be rooted in the belief that in this era of globalisation, our intrinsic connections to people around the world are more pronounced and we can and do effect others. Our ways of living must be carefully rethought and drastically shifted so that future generations might also inherit a planet full of natural beauty and positive cultural expression.
